Niccolò Paganini, the renowned Italian violinist associated with the legend of a pact with the Devil, became a symbol of virtuosity pushed to the limits of the supernatural. Here, the octopus evokes this demonic imagery: spreading across the violinist's head and concealing his eyes, it represents an external force that overwhelms his perception and seizes his will, transforming him into an instrument of a strange intelligence beyond his own control.
